Baby Josue

Many of you know who Magda is, but if not: Magda started sitting a couple days a week for Truitt when he was 3 mos old. When he started going to school full time, she started staying with Mathis. She is a total sweetheart and we just love her.

Magda and her husband, Tony, have been trying to have a baby of their own for almost 5 years. It didn't happen and didn't happen and they even went to a clinic to get tests run. Inconclusive but it was suggested that they would need IVF or another treatment to have a baby. They saved their money for years but just when they thought they had enough, prices went up. Magda was so disappointed at the prospect of waiting longer to start her own family. Luckily, nature intervened and she finally (and unexpectedly) got pregnant on her own.

Josue (is pronounced like "hose-way" and the Spanish for Joshua) ended up being born 6 weeks early while Magda and Tony were visiting Magda's brother outside of Fort Worth. They stayed up there for a month while the baby was in the NICU. He was growing and eating well, though, so they discharged them at 1 month and they came back to Houston.

While my mom was here their new family stopped by so we could all meet the baby! He is so teeny, a whole 2 lbs smaller than either of my boys were at birth. He eats well though and is growing right before my eyes. He is a sweet little thing and I look forward to watching him grow the same way Magda has seen my sons grow. Welcome, Baby Josue!
