The weather turned from cool to warm very abruptly in Houston this year. After a mild winter (read: mosquitoes will thrive this year), no one really expected the hot weather to arrive so soon, but over spring break it hit the 80s on most days. Alas, we are preparing for the real heat to come earlier this year as well.
Part of the prep for hot weather is our annual outdoor spring cleaning. Without a garage, a lot of our outside toys live under the car port during the winter. Sadly, they are not protected from the elements (luckily we finally started getting rain after a horrible drought last summer) and get pretty dirty. Getting ready for the heat means getting them cleaned up for playing. The boys are always ready to help with this large task
Mathis decided he would be the soap dispenser this year, while Truitt manned the hose.
We have been doing a lot of work inside as well. The boys' are now sharing a bedroom and the smaller room, which was Mathis', is now a playroom. Photos of those projects are pending. While the boys and I started the yard work, Daddy moved the old nursery dresser and some boxes of baby toys to storage. It was really a 2man job, so Tony was nice enough to come help out. Magda and Josue hung out at the house with us, although I suspect Magda did not realize there would be a hose involved.
Mathis's turn to man the hose involved some window washing, which was needed and welcomed!
Truitt, scrubbing up the trike.
Wet boy going fast!
Once the pool was clean, Tru and Josue decided to climb in. Unfortunately this day was not quite as warm as the proceeding days, so full entry would not have been smart. It was more of a wading kind of day.
Can't work if you're hungry. Snack time! Which was also warm up time...
Funny face time!
And cuteness overload time!
