What we've got going on

Poor Turtle! He has been battling this cough for months. It's allergies, primarily, but it gets rooted in to his lungs and it just plain sucks. From a mild cough to full on bronchitis, we have been dealing with this since the end of the summer. Last week, he had a mild cough and I was certain it was due to a change in the weather- the same kind of change that makes my allergies go pretty haywire. We went to Austin for the weekend and it just got worse. Cedar, we figured. But it didn't get any better when we got home and today I took him to the doctor. I finally caved and we are going with an inhaled steroid, which he will be on indefinitely. Our pediatrician is concerned that this cough could have permanent effects, like scarring in his lungs. How scary is that to hear?

The next step is to see an allergist, who will also test for things like asthma or other respiratory issues. I just want him to be healthy. Our poor, little guy. In other news, I am late in getting Turtle's 2 year check up... Dr Shuman said to let him get well 1st and then we'll make up the exam so I only feel sorta guilty.

While Turtle is trying to get better, his little brother is kicking up a STORM. This baby is way more active than I ever remember Turtle being. Sure, it's the second baby and all that BUT I have anterior placenta, which means I shouldn't feel as much, AND not even once have I had to lay down and worry about kick counts with this kid. With T, I had to do it all the time. I honestly think I am going to birth a Tasmanian Devil instead of a baby!

My pregnancy/personal health is good- I'm exhausted, but functioning. The Gestational Diabetes score came back and this time I am not borderline and do not have to be subjected to the 3 hour test. Everything has been normal, normal, normal. It's nice. I can't believe I am 26 weeks pregnant.... Wow. It has really flown by. In case you're wondering, we have nothing more than the blueprint in our heads for the nursery and finishing up Turtle's room. I guess we should get cracking on that...

And because no post is complete without something cute to look at:
Nana and Honey were here for Turtle's big 2nd birthday celebration (pictures forthcoming). There are two things you can always count on when Honey is in town- something will get fixed and there will be a trip to Clark's [Link here if you like wood]
This trip was no different. Honey hit Clark's before they even got to our house. Priorities! Ha! Then, after fixing the toilet seat cover in the guest bath, he put together the smaller tricycle Truitt got for Christmas from Uncle Eddie. This one has a handle to be pushed from the back, so it's better right now while Tru still can't reach the pedals on his big trike.

Turtles make excellent helpers

Safety first- Turtles always wear their helmets; Getting a hand from Dada
