Say Uncle

There are a lot of ways my son could be like my brother that would make us very proud. Ed is smart, well educated, kind, loves his family, is respectful. In fact, Turtle can be everything Uncle Eddie is *except* one: Republican. That, friends, would just be crossing the line! Ha!
I started wondering if they would be similar people recently when I stumbled upon this scene: We had stripped the slipcover from the couch in Truitt's room to wash it. With all the cushions off, he realized there was quite a bit more spring in the sofa. He decided he would use that extra spring to leap on to his Grandma. Repeatedly. Over and over, with more and more force.
You see, my brother used to do the exact.same.thing to our grandmother when he was a toddler. He would literally scale the front of her and jump directly on her. We actually have some family photos from his childhood that look a lot like these:

Unfortunately, my camera has been so beat down I wasn't able to capture all the good jumping action, but this went on for about 10 minutes and most times my porr mother looked a lot like she looks in the last picture. You can just imagine the peels of laughter that came out of that damn Turtle. The more my mom howled in anguish, the more fun the game was. I couldn't stop him. I could only run for my camera and add another generation of Grandma jumping to the archives.
