It's Not A Box

In preparation for our bathroom renovation (finally!!) one of the things we have to do is empty the bookcase in our hallway. Part of the re-do will include putting a door on the bookcase and turning it in to a linen closet. Actually, it's probably more appropriate to say "back in to a linen closet" as I can't imagine any house built in 1930 having a random built in at the end of the hallway. I also can't imagine anyone would intentionally build it in such a random place but the renovation of this house wasn't smartly done in many ways, so who knows.

Anyway, we are excited to have the additional real storage, versus what it is currently. Part of the process of getting it ready includes boxing up all the junk we currently have shoved in to those shelves- sad to say, even though it is an open book case, we pretty much already use it as if it had a door on it, keeping everything from extra baby wipes to sunscreen to clean clothes next to, on top of and in front of the books. To accomplish this, Ray procured a dozen or so document boxes from his office. This whole process happened to coincide with Truitt requesting Not A Box as his book-du-jour for bedtime.

I call this one "Unbridled excitement":

Daddy got in on the action as well.

Needless to say, there were some tears when Tru and Mathis awoke one morning to find their fort/spaceship/castle/racecars had been assembled in to mere boxes.
