Holy growth spurt, Batman! Mathis skyrocketed in length for his 6 month appointment.
Length: 29" putting him in the 97%. Mind you, this is after I made the nurse remeasure b/c the 1st time the hash mark was about 1/2" higher than his head. Tall boy and I think you can really see how he has lengthened in the pictures.
Weight: 17#10oz which is also great at the 50%. He is long and thin but not too thin. Dr Shuman was very happy with these stats and so am I, but admitedly I would like to see a little more meat on his bones. Look how skinny Truitt got when he started moving! Mathis will be skin and bones if he follows that same path! We'll just have to wait and see.
Head: 17 3/4", 75-90%. Again, she measured twice. I think the 1st time she measured too high and didn't get the back of his head, which would have made him a pea head for sure. This shows good brain development, so we are pleased there as well. Over all, great appointment!

He is a little bunched up in his 6 mos picture because he was too busy playing with the book to let me get a good photo. Unlike Truitt, he prefers soft books and loveys over rattles and noise makers. Everytime I think about these preferences, I wonder how they are going to be different growing up and what it all means. I think it will be interesting to look back at these questions in a few years and see where the differences started. Anyway, I really did try to get a pic without the book, but everytime I took it away, I got this:
Mean Mama!
Here are some other pics I snapped that day. I take a lot of pics of the kids just because I can and these are the kind that make me glad I do it. These are the kind that make me sit back and say "damn that kid is cute!"
