So much to Discover

This weekend the Torgerson clan trekked to downtown for the opening weekend of our fair city's new Discovery Green Park. http://www.discoverygreen.com/
It was packed with people and dogs- both of every shape, size and breed. We were joined by Ben, Merritt, Baby Grant and Merritt's parents (Fritz and Judy) for the fun. It was a gorgeous day, not a cloud in the sky. We tried to sample the new eatery which is part of the park, but there was a line out the door and standing room only. We ended up at The Grove (which is on the other side of the park). It's not usually a place peeps take their kids, but due to the event and all that, we didn't have an issue. The mojitos were sooooo good! The food was nice, but the company was better. It was good to spend some time with the Westcott clan since we have all gotten too busy being parents to hang out anymore. Boo!!

Turtle and Daddy hang outside 1000 Main until the Westcotts joined us. Dads and Boys ready to go!

This is the sailboat pond at Discovery Green. It's nicer in person. Ha! Also, I learned after the fact that the pond is designed to freeze in the winter (a feat in South Texas) for ice skating in the winter. That will be really funt o see! The other photo is a shot of one of the many cool water features and a large playscape. This place is kid central!

This is my funny son enjoying some Duck Meatballs, while baby Grant enjoys a tall, cold one!
