Well, we're back from lovely Corpus Christi. We had a great time with Ray's extended family and enjoyed time with my in-laws and nieces/nephew. Turtle was beyond thrilled to play with his cousins and all their new Christmas toys. I have so much to share from the holidays, but it's going to take a while...
This Christmas does mark a turning point for this blog. My belated birthday, early Christmas gift was this wonderful piece of machinery:
You can expect some pretty awesome images going forward. Unfortunately, the pictures come out so amazing that I was hardly able to delete any from the camera and have some 400+ to sort through just from Christmas Eve til now. Luckily for you, I won't post them all. It is going to take some time to sort the wheat from the chaff, however, and I am still not sure what method I am going to use to upload these pics from the camera to the computer... The camera is more fun, but it's also going to be more work. That's ok though. I am totally in love and the Momarazzi is in full effect. I have a couple classes lined up to take and once I really get the hang of how awesome it is, I'll be upgrading my lenses and all that good stuff.
So, RIP Sony Cyber-Shot and all your silly proprietary memory cards. You sure were handy, but we all need to move forward and you were just holding me back. Thanks for the years of service!
As far as 2009, I don't believe in resolutions. I think setting resolutions just sets you up for failure and feeling bad. However, I do think a new year is a chance to focus and gives you a jumping off point to look back on and see how far you've come. So, I have some goals for this year. I may or may not accomplish them fully this year, but they are my list to get started when the calendar flips:
- Pick back up on The Great Purge. The house needs to be cleaned out and cleaned up. Ray and I are going to have to lose our packrat ways if a family of 4 is going to survive in this house. Granted, my freakish recycling habit has something to do with it, but goal 2 should help there...
- Do more Reduce and Reuse, as well as Recycle. Yes, the environmental motto has way more to it than just the recycling part. It's great that we recycle everything Houston allows us to, but we would have so much less to deal with if we were smarter about reducing the amount of trash we generate and reusing what we can.
- Lose the baby weight. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I am not a freak about it and I don't plan on even accomplishing the whole goal in the 2009 calendar year, but I waited 18 mos to get back to yoga after Turtle was born and I pledging not to do that this time. I had just started back when, well I'll be, I turned up pregnant again. I want to be in better shape for #3 than I was for #2. Otherwise, I'll never get close to my original weight again. In the end, I really just want to be fit and healthy and have an energy level that will allow me to deal with chasing 2 boys around. If I look better in my clothes, that is an added perk.
I am relying on you guys to keep me accountable to these goals! Harass me (especially about #1)!! I need it!!
