Mathis' umbillical cord finally fell off earlier this week. It seemed like it took forever. We couldn't give him a real bath until it was gone so for 3 weeks it was sponge baths. I wasn't sure how he was going to take the real tub since he *hated* the sponge bath with a passion. In the end, I think it's being cold that the boy really doesn't like. He loved the bathtub and didn't fuss or fidget at all. Of course, Big Brother was on hand to help and that made the 1st real bath all the more special.
Mathis' facial expressions in these pics are priceless. I only wish I was clever enough to give them the kinds of captions they deserve!
Not nearly as fun or exciting when Mama is doing the bathing:
Truitt was so very happy to help:
Mathis says "I'm clean, Suckas!"
Getting warm and dry:
And then my 3 favorite guys, bundled up and ready for books and bed:
In cuter than cute Truitt news, in the car last night he said "I am a Big Boy and a Big Brother." Isn't he ever?
In sadder than sad news, my mom left this morning. Truitt already misses her. Twice today he asked to see Grandma. It's heartbreaking! Of course with her departure I am now stressed out to no end. How am I going to manage these 2 on my own? I know. I will. People do. Still, it's daunting. Luckily, it will only really be one day since Ray is off Monday and my inlaws are coming on Wednesday. Woo hoo! More hands = Happy Mama.
