Mathis at 8 weeks/Brotherly Love

The top picture is Mathis at 4 weeks. The others are Mathis at 8 weeks. I can see how he has grown in these pictures, but it's really nothing compared to how he has grown and changed in person. He is really getting out of the newbie stage and looking full on baby. He just keeps getting cuter. Truitt was like that- he got cuter by the day. In fact, it hasn't stopped!

Mathis has been a pretty sleepy baby, sleeping many more hours during the day than T ever did. Little by little, though, he is having more wakeful time. And when he is awake, he is a lot like Truitt- always wanting to be held. He has to be upright (I wonder if reflux is involved?) and any horizontal movement results in cries of protest. So, I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when we had a few minutes on the playmat. I don't need him to self-entertain for very long, but sometimes Mama would like to use the ladies' room unencumbered.

In other news, Mathis also got a grip on a toy for the 1st time yesterday!

CAUTION: Extreme Cuteness Ahead

We were in Truitt's room yesterday and I was putting away some clothes. I laid Mathis on the bed and Truitt hopped up and laid down next to him. He was kissing him and holding his hand. I begged him "Tru, please stay right there. Mama will be right back!" and ran to get the camera. He is such a sweet boy and an excellent big brother.
