Yeah so, I thought I would finally take a break from Facebook (ugh) and get back to blogging.
Lovely Jessica is taking her fun self, her cute husband and her cuter baby and heading to Fort Worth. While the move is "supposed" to be temporary, we're sure going to miss her smiling face at our GTGs. At least we all have the internet.
A few of us got together to show her off in style. Dinner turned to after dinner drinks turned to just plain more drinks. We definitely had a blast (so much so that pregnant Selena had a hangover by proxy. lol).
We started out at Zake for sushi and drinks. Some people went with sake but I stuck with white wine. Sake and the morning do not get along for me (or, apparently, for Jess). It was a lot of fun and the food was yummy. It was Happy Hour so we indulged in all kinds of sushi plus other fun things like gyoza and spicy shrimp. Mmmmmm.... Of course, I had to be a wine snob and not order the house wine, so no HH drinks for me. Boo!
Joey came by with Jess' mom to say "good bye" as well. He is getting so big and cuter by the minute. The picture quality isn't great, but that doesn't stop his cuteness from showing up!
Here we are, acting civilized:
From Zake, we moved on the to The Wine Bucket. Was that my idea??? Maybe going was my idea, but ordering by the bottle was not. I will only take so much blame, people!
Stupid party tricks:
The picture that launched a thousand laughs:
We pretty much shut the wine bar down. In fact, they let us stay while they did all their closing tasks and we walked out with the bartender. Luckily (heh heh), I knew another little bar only a couple blocks away. Bitterman's is a hole in an old house where any cast of colorful characters is likely to be found. For better or worse, I would say we were the colorful characters on this particular evening.
Of course, no GNO is complete until you talk to weird old men at the bar and they buy you a cheap bottle of champagne!
