Turtle has always been a really affectionate baby. Even in the 1st months of his life, he would hold my finger while nursing or Daddy's finger to fall asleep. He loves to be held and prefers to sit in the crook of an arm while being read to. This once private, family behavior has now extended to public displays of affection. It's so cute- he will hold hands with friends at playgroup and loves to give hugs. Sometimes, though, it gets a little out of control. He can't always understand when someone is smaller than him, so often those hugs turn to knock downs. He also doesn't understand that, unlike Mama, his friends enjoy the first 3 hugs and then it becomes quite bothersome. He has had a couple times where he fixated on one other kid and just wanted to keep hugging them. I would be concerned if I didn't know other kids that do this as well. Must be the age (which is my explaination for every.single.thing.)...
Heather brought Vincent over Friday afternoon. Vince got some hugs.
Ha- I didn't get pics of the hugs that really started to annoy Vincent because I was too busy trying to pry my son off him to take any. After he got off the couch, Vince did give me a look as if to say "Why the heck did you just let that happen to me?"
Turtle has also been practicing his waitering lately. He likes to carry his plates from under, like a cocktail tray. Here we have Turtle showing you the many faces of the service industry.
The Polite Waiter: Here is your dinner, Ma'am.
The Truck Stop Waiter: Hot plate, comin through. Outta my way!
The Michelin 3 Star Rated Waiter: I look down my nose at your wine selection and refuse to tell you the prices for the evenings off-the-menu selections.
The Angry Waiter: I have a college education. You can't talk to me like that. Oh, sorry, did I just spill that soup in your lap?
The Late Night Waiter: I've been drinking on the job all day and I forgot that this plate is not a hat.
And, if you've read this far, you must love you some Turtlepants and will be thrilled to spend 2 minutes of your day watching him chase Vincent around and blabber cute Turtlesque nonsense:
