Houston to Austin to San Antonio to Houston

Our beyond-wonderful niece Anaka came for her annual visit in July. The weekend we picked her up in Austin was a little hectic, but we killed a lot of birds with one road trip.
While in Austin, we got to see our wonderful friends, The Vaughns. They let us crash at their pad Friday night, which was a blast. We went out for some Tex-Mex and then hung out by their pool until we just couldn't stay up anymore. The next morning we hit Kerby Lane for breakfast before heading on to San Antonio...

All of us (except Daddy taking the pic) at Kerby Lane; Turtle and Harrison

It was all about driving and eating. After breakfast, we hit the road to grab lunch with Andre. In San Antonio, we sat on the patio at Stoneworks and it was actually nice. With enough shade, the heat was tolerable and you know that Turtle loooves him some outside. Anaka chased him around the patio for a while, which he loved. They both got to stretch their legs after/before a lot of car time. Unfortunately, Suzanne couldn't escape work so we didn't get to see her again this visit. We hope to make it to SA for Alexis' birthday next month. I can't believe how big Alexis has gotten from the pictures. It will be great to see her in person at her party.

After lunch, we headed back to Andre's to chat and check out some pics from his recent adventures. As always, Zoe was thrilled to see us. I think Andre said she is 9 years old this year. The gray on her muzzle gives her away, but she still has the same energy she's had since the 1st time we met her back in Houston. I absolutely love this picture with Zoe's big doggie smile!!

Turtle gets some QT with Uncle Andre; Anaka and Zoe get acquainted

AT&T has decided to move its HQ from San Antonio to Dallas. Andre and Suzanne will be making the move as well. It's so funny to me that 7 years after leaving Dallas I have friends moving back there--- the kinds of friends we visit. Looks like I'll be reacquainted with Big D soon... At least I know Primo'swill always be there!
The move means Andre no longer needs his wonderful house. A lot of good times went down in this house; a lot of late nights and a lot of empty wine bottles.
We'll miss you, Elmview!
And for the last time in this location, Zoe at the door.
We decided to not spend the night in San Antonio. We figured by driving back the same day we would only have to spend one day in the car and have the whole Sunday to be together before Ray's work week started. It was a fun weekend and it's always good to see our friends in other cities. We love you guys!
