Saturdays are for Discovering

This weekend Daddy spent Saturday morning golfing, so Truitt and I met some friends at the awesome Discovery Green in downtown Houston. Alas, it was not the socializing-with-other-mommies we were hoping for. We spent all of our time chasing toddlers around, but it was fun nonetheless. How fun, you may ask? Fun enough that my cat-napper of a son took a 2.5 hour nap when we got home!

One of the best areas of the park is this water feature. It has jets that spray water in varying directions and at varying intensities. While we have been to the park before, this was the 1st time Turtle got to get in and really enjoy.

When we first got there, the water was in "rest mode. I don't think the kids knew exactly what to expect. Turtle was happy just splashing in the small puddles left behind. When he saw what he was ins tore for, he got way more excited! (Oh, and don't miss the video toward the bottom)

"Hey, Gideon, are you going to come check it out with me?"; doesn't know quite what to make of it yet

The first burst of water; "Mama, do you see this?"

And then the glee of realizing what he is now in the middle of!

Maddie taking a minute to assess the situation; the other Madeline heads right in

Both Madeline's enjoy the water while Hannah has a coffee (lol)

Gideon and Truitt, action shots! Doesn't Truitt's pic look a little like this:

Ha!

Truitt is concerned during a water break; ah, relief! it's back!

Of course, I had to take some video. I think you'll find this pretty damn cute. If you can't tell what he is saying (outside of the screeching), he is pointing at the water and screaming "agua" to anyone who will listen. Pure bliss for my amphibious boy and a joy for me to watch! I also love the jump in place and then step up on the curb moves. He hasn't quite realized how jumping on and off the curb works, but he sure knows he wants to!

In addition to the water area, there is a great playground. We actually hit the playground first while it was still cool enough. These are just some pics I snapped of cuteness. Click the photos if you want to enlarge (they will go full screen):

And because there is no such thing as too much cuteness, a parting photo. Thanks for reading!
