100 Thing Challenge

Have any of you heard of this? We are in the process of doing a big purge, but it's slow going. I have just totally tired of being a slave to *stuff* so it's going. Lots and Lots of it. I was in a slump recently and then I picked up a recent issue of TIME magazine where I read about the Challenge.

The 100 Thing Challenge was basically started by this one guy who, like me, got sick of so much stuff cluttering his life and decided to do something about it. The neat thing is he is serious and is not just throwing stuff out willy nilly. He is not completely clearing house; he is not counting his daughters' stuff or his wife's stuff, so plenty will be left behind. He faces challenges and makes decisions carefully. After all, we are sentimental about our stuff. He is doing it, though, and motivating a lot of others to follow...

The TIME Article where I learned about the challenge talked about how many people are personalizing it to make it fit their lives. So, maybe they're not true to the challenge, but heck- the guy who created it isn't even sure he can do it. One woman counts her shoe collection as one item. That is a way of thinking I can get behind. I think the goal is still the same- to live with less.
Do I think I can accomplish only owning 100 things? No and I truly don't want to try, but the article is motivational and the blog is insightful. In addition to All Things Turtle, I am going to try and chart my journey to being clutter free here as well. I think posting it for everyone to see will create a sense of accountability I need...
More to come on this subject...

And some random cuteness: Truitt at 4 mos old and sitting in his highchair for the 1st time. Wow.
