If it's not one thing...

So, our cheap old AT&T modem finally crapped out. Luckily, I have Antidote and their wonderful wi-fi close by. I am cheating as I am down here to work, but I know you're checking in, so I thought I would satisfy your cravings for cuteness.

First, some news: My mom is here. YAY!! She is here for 3 weeks to help me with the baby and getting some projects done around the house. Operation Clean Sweep and all that... It's been a busy week: besides Grandma coming and Noni home from the hospital, Nana and Honey also came by for a couple days to visit. It was really nice having all our families in town.

Now, on to the good stuff:
Really, what could be more fun than stacking boxes of snack crackers? Not much, Turtle will tell you!! Obviously, it's cute enough to take pictures of, so...

Of course, when you start to use them as a pillow, it's probably time for bed!

There was a very long period of time where Turtle would not sit still for books, no matter how short or simple. It was frustrating for Mama and Daddy b/c we really wanted him to love books (and learn from them) like we did as children. Like with all things baby, we just had to be patient.

Now all he wants to do is read books- or have books read to him, I should say. It's become a very sweet part of our bedtime routine. Often, Daddy reads before the boy goes to sleep, but sometimes we all get together as a family for a story and that is really nice. Here are some pics of Daddy and Turtle enjoying The Family Book by Todd Parr, a story about all different kinds of families:

Awwww! I just love our little family!!

Other books in our current rotation:

That's Not My Tractor

Where The Wild Things Are

Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can you?

The Hello-Goodby Window This is also a book we love to give as a gift! Many of our good friends got it for Christmas last year!

Curious George Thanks, Uncle Eddie!

Any books by Lesie Petricelli We have several of these in both English for Mama to read and Spanish for Daddy and Magda to read.
