Wednesday of this week, Noni went in for an endoscopy and to have her throat dilated in hopes it would help her eat. The procedure was successful but there was a complication- the endoscope caused a small perforation in her esophagus. She was experiencing quite a bit of pain yesterday and when I called Endoscopy at MDA, Dr Ross (her GI Dr) said to take her to the ER. We were there for several hours and the perforation was confirmed. They admitted her very late last night/early this morning and will be keeping her for at least 3-4 days. The hope is that the hole is so small it will seal on its own. They have her on antibiotics and she cannot take anything by mouth- no food, drinks or meds. Turtle and I are going to see her later today (after his nap) and bring her some pajamas and other comforts. I will up update here as needed. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
