Last week, while we were out of town, Grandma took Turtle to his 1st swim lesson of the summer. This weekend we got to take him for our first time this year. We had a really good time and Turtle did, too. In fact, he is so good in the water that "Cricket" (the intructor) used him as an example baby almost every new task. She even got a kick out of the fact that he was putting his own face under water as soon as he got in the pool. Sarah, Simon and Alexander are also in our class. There are about 6 babies altogether- half are small babies and the other half are older toddlers.
I am pretty impressed with the Stude Park pool. Granted, it's not open to the public in the mornings, but it was clean and clear; generally well kept. There is also a stunning view of the park, the bayou and downtown skyline from the pool. Impressive for a public pool for sure.
It's a nice little walk from the house- about a mile. The Youngers walked to our house and we all strolled to the pool together. The sun was blazing, but the walk home was actually nice in the shade of the hood and we were wet in our suits. We made a pitstop at Antidote on the way home for a beverage. This class session is only 4 weeks long, so we are 1/2 way through, but I definitely look forward to taking another session with Cricket. =)
Trunks on and ready to go!
