Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got

The little man was Turtle From The Block today, hosting a barbecue/ block party for our street. I forgot to take any pictures so you'll have to just read my boring text and be happy until next time.

The block party went really well. We no longer have to be embarrassed that we don't know the people 3 or 4 doors down. It was so interesting to hear how long some people have lived on our quiet little street.

It was also cool to find out what everyone does. Surprisingly, Ray was the only lawyer in attendance. After all, they call the Heights "the lawyers ghetto." Not surprising was the fect that there were no less than 6 people who worked for oil companies in one way or another- geologist, safety, deep water... There was also a couple of working artists, the station manager for our local Pacifica radio station (KPFT), a Chanel makeup account rep, an accountant, a pilot, a DEA agent, and 2 stay at home moms. It's a neat little neighborhood.

Truitt had a blast. We invited some non-street friends with bambinos, so he had plenty of playmates. The weather was awesome and we sat out on the front lawns for 5 hours. Truitt was good for a laugh, picking up beer bottles and saying "agua." Yeah, mommy agua maybe ;-)

Lots of people asked if we could do it again soon. I am sure we will. Boo to the people who didn't show. They missed a good time!

That's right, I said it... said...

I love your life. It serves as an urban inspiration for us outside the loopers, Meyerland folks, that aspire to be domesitic darlings like yourself.

Go Torgersons!!!
